Thales – salon boat

Thales is a ship of resilient character, combining grit and courage with elegance and style. An adventurer with a shell of steel and a heart of velvet, it has lived many lives and emerged stronger and more charming from every storm, always maintaining its identity.

The vessel, originally a fishing trawler named “White Horse,” was built by Langerbrugge Shipyard in 1968 and has retained its original features – including a 306 HP / 22 kW Industrial Engine – and historical value throughout its history.

In 1989, the ship washed up on Seaford Beach in the United Kingdom during a summer storm. The accident marked a milestone in the ship’s history and left it undergoing significant refurbishment. Work was completed in 1999 by the Metz shipyard in Urk and the White Horse was converted into an expedition trawler. The name Thales originated in 2000, when the ship was renamed to a charter fleet for pleasure cruising in Rotterdam. The latest transformation took place in 2021, when Thales was converted into a boutique yacht.

Even the latest renovation retained both the features and spirit of the ship, in line with Thales’ mission to preserve Maritime Heritage. Today, this mission is guarded and perpetuated by the “Thales Foundation” and the “Thales Club,” founded in 2022 to preserve the yacht’s iconic and historic value.
