The Ero has been docked at the Wijnhaven since this summer, and the skipper, Vince, plans to use his historic ship as a studio ship for a variety of events like the ones mentioned above. Read more about the plans below. If you’d like to sign up for an event or receive his newsletter, please contact Vince at atelierschip@gmail.com or 06 15647264.

Art Cafe is a makers’ cafe. Interested? Come join us. This time, it’s on Thursday evening. Please sign up (atelierschip@gmail.com) so we can save a spot for you.
Please make a donation if you can spare it. Your contribution supports the Atelierschip and the joy of making art together.

Creating art—that’s what it’s all about in the end: we connect with one another through art. We gather in the cozy space of the Atelierschip Ero and at other inspiring locations in the neighborhood. We’re a diverse group—young and old, smart and crafty (or not at all), men and women, rich and poor, sailors and landlubbers…

You can do all kinds of small projects that you can work on at a relaxed pace. That way, you’ll discover what you enjoy and which materials you prefer to work with. There are all kinds of materials you can use. Or you can bring your own favorite materials. You can create whatever you want. It’s all about your own development. There’s no right or wrong. An instructor will offer a little guidance. And as you come more often, you’ll find that your work becomes easier and easier.

Here, you can do what you’ve always wanted to do but never got around to. Do your thing: paint a series of artworks, design your own flag, pillow, or mural. Or finally write that book.

Drawing and painting are at the heart of our activities—in all sorts of ways: outdoors, indoors, on a grand scale or with delicate detail, professionally or straight from the heart. To further broaden our offerings, we engage in cross-pollination with other disciplines: We regularly feature a musical program, and professionals come to lead inspirational workshops. In November, for example, there will be two free introductory days.

For now, the activities are still free, thanks to the support of the Neighborhood Council and Cultuur Concreet. So for the time being, it’s still “Pay What You Like”!

You can also help with the organization: there’s still so much to do to turn this into a thriving community. Sign up to volunteer.

Please sign up for the activities if you plan to join us, because indoor space is limited: 8–12 people.
