When the owners of the “Zani” bought their ship, it was still as good as original. They found it on the Internet and it came straight from the freight industry. They completely rebuilt the ship to make it suitable for living on it.

The Zani is now a real houseboat, because the current residents do not sail on it. Living in the Maritime District is something they actually enjoy just way too much for that. “We live in the heart of downtown Rotterdam, but you still have the idea of a small community,” they say of it.
