The ‘Moshulu’ is of the 1938 spire type and specially built for the French canals. Of the many spires that sailed around, some are still in operation. The “Moshulu” retired in 2022, after nearly 85 years of faithful service. This beautiful spire has sailed in Holland, Belgium, Germany and France, even as far as the Mediterranean. The name “Moshulu” is the indigenous word for “fearless. In 1969, the wheelhouse was moved forward and a Gardner engine was installed. This beautifully maintained spire is now slowly undergoing a transformation into a living space.
