Jodocus – Overijsselian tjalk

This tjalk was built by order of the first skipper Arend Kleine of Hoogeveen and launched in 1905. The ship carried all kinds of goods; from potatoes to manure, across canals and rivers, as well as the Wadden Sea and then Zuiderzee. In 1951 the ship was motorized with an English Blackstone diesel engine (26hp) and the engine room is still largely in the same condition.

In the 1970s the ship was skillfully restored, with attention to all the special authentic details still present. Especially the original deckhouse with kitchenette, wooden benches and cupboards. But also the aft cabin with old fireplace and bedsteads, which still serve as sleeping quarters today!

Dit schip is privé-eigendom en niet vrij toegankelijk.
