The Ten Rotterdam – Workbox

THE TIEN Rotterdam: ‘From working ship to lodge boat’

This ship was built on behalf of the municipality of Rotterdam. Under the name “Carpenter 10,”
this ship helped rebuild the port after WWII. In particular, the heavily battered
quay walls were repaired by the crew of this ship.
If you look closely at the ship you can see how hard work was done on it. See
for example, look at the heavy winches that dragged the ship along the wharves and the large mast with
the primal lever. There was nothing romantic about this ship. There was bickering and rock hard
worked.
When the work in the port was completed, the ship was converted in 2007 to remain
Lodging.
The crew’s residence is now the guesthouse, the “Captain’s Cabin” which is the year-round
rented out.
In the former workshop, on the other side of the ship, the current owners reside a
much of the year. This section is available for rent for special occasions.
Inside, you feel the atmosphere of don’t bullshit but polish. It is enjoyment to be part of the feeling
What the crew of this sturdy workboat had. From the deck, you can experience the harbor.
Staying on this ship in the Maritime District is a privilege, according to the owners, and every day a
new adventure.
The city at your feet and the water around you. From the “portholes” you can see the huge tall
residential towers and at the same time a grebe swimming by with nesting material in its beak.

In the middle of the city and in the middle of nature.
