The Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee considers applications for a berth for a vessel with heritage value. The committee reviews the restoration plan and surveys the ship and advises the board of directors. Vessels for the non-museum ports do not need to be surveyed for heritage value.
Once every 2 years, a progress survey is conducted for all vessels in terms of safety, and for the surveyed vessels with heritage value, the progress and quality of restoration is also reviewed.
The committee has 5 members and meets at least 3 times a year.
The advisory committee periodically awards the “Cutting Burner Trophy” to a ship owner who has made a distinguished effort to restore his/her sailing heritage. The trophy is a challenge trophy. In addition, the owner will receive a voucher to spend at a marine supplies store or the Ship’s Wharf Kingsgate.
